The Technical Assistance & Training Specialist (TA / T) develops and enhances the PLN division’s ability to provide early childhood programs with the highest quality professional development in service of providing the most impactful outcome-oriented services to families through the successful and demonstrated implementation of a designated research-based program model.

Reporting to the Assistant Program Manager Family Engagement, you will :

  • Provide ongoing technical assistance and coaching to assigned center-based, family child care homes and home-based sites in areas including, but not limited to, program management and development, outcome attainment, staff recruitment, retention and professional development, community outreach and engagement, family / participant outreach, engagement and recruitment, reflective practice, best practice standards, program model and curriculum fidelity, funder requirements, documentation and monitoring.
  • Acquire and maintain certification as a Parents as Teachers core trainer and facilitate curriculum and model core trainings to early childhood professionals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development of and facilitate professional learning events that address the evolving needs of the early childhood field and advance the field’s professional expertise leading to proven and impactful outcomes for programs and families.
  • Develop and implement project plans for the advancement of specific areas of program model / curriculum or service development, as approved.

Project areas and expertise may include, but are not limited to doula programming, NEAR@Home, Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN), Home Visiting Observation Rating Scale (HOVRS), infant mental health consultation, video intervention, developmental screening, intimate partner violence, substance abuse, trauma and trauma-informed practice, parent-child relationships, family case management, and other specific program areas.

May lead project teams as needed.

  • Collect and analyze training and technical assistance data, utilize PDSA cycles and contribute to the ongoing CQI processes to improve the delivery and increase the impact of services.
  • Participate on divisional and cross-divisional work teams to advance the division and organization’s strategic plans and continuous quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Family Studies, Social Work, Human Services, Education or other related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a home visitor, home visiting supervisor, family support worker, or early childhood professional.

Experience in training and / or mentoring other professionals.

  • Experience in reviewing documentation and providing feedback to program leaders.
  • Must have organizational skills sufficient to effectively manage multiple events and training projects simultaneously which are in various stages of development and implementation.
  • Deep commitment in advancing diversity, racial equity, and inclusion into organizational routines and practice.
  • Effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
  • Comfort and experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have ongoing access to an insured vehicle.
