Job Overview of Mechanic B
Responsible for maintenance of the agency’s buildings and grounds, grounds equipment, and tools. Responsible for maintaining the upkeep of building equipment and for performing various projects or other work related duties assigned by Facilities Manager and / or Sr.
Director of Facilities.
Hours : Monday-Friday 8 : 00 AM until 5 : 00 PM
Essential Duties of Mechanic B
Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Maintenance and repairs of different levels to all agency ground, buildings, equipment and mechanical systems.
- Minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs.
- Deliveries, loading and unloading of trucks.
- Snow removal, including plowing, surface treatment and shoveling.
- Various landscaping, planting and tree removal.
- Respond to emergency situations, water main breaks, fire, flood outside of regular business hours when necessary.
- Supports overall strategic plan of the organization
- Ability to adhere to our organization's core values and commitments
Essential Qualifications of Mechanic B
Key qualifications include :
- Valid State issued Driver’s License in good standing
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years’ experience (Five preferred) in a maintenance / construction worker capacity or a related field
- Intermediate level of all trades (Specifically, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting)
- Ability to speak and understand English language
- Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively
- Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs
Physical / Travel Requirements of Mechanic B
- Must possess ability to stand, walk, see, climb stairs, climb ladders and lift weights of up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to load and unload vehicles
- Ability to operate motorized equipment safely.
- Must be willing to both work with, and seek to increase their sensitivity and competency in working with clients with diverse characteristics that may include, but are not limited to any of the following race, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, physical and mental health histories, and differing socio-economic backgrounds.
- Must be flexible in performing job functions at all agency facilities and or related business locations.
