The Coordinator I Psychiatric Social Worker coordinates mental health services to students and families in LACOE schools and partnering districts.
The Coordinator I will promote the multi-tiered system of school mental health supports in assigned districts and schools by providing consultation and technical assistance, direct services to students, families, and school communities, and practicum instruction of bachelor and masters level mental health and Pupil Personnel Services Credential to students / candidates enrolled in a PPS Credential program under the supervision of the Project Director III, Mental Health and School Counseling. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION : Experience : A minimum of two years working with children and families in the field of social work after the attainment of a Masters in Social Work degree is required.
A minimum of two years working in K-12 education providing mental health services to children, youth, and families is desired.
Experience serving as a practicum instructor or preceptor for university social work students / candidates enrolled in a PPS Credential program is preferred.
Education (required) : A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution of higher learning. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (All applicants must attach credential with document number to their application.

- Pupil Personnel Services Credential in Social Work and Child Welfare & Attendance (required).
