Job Details

Currently seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to join a respected HVAC Fabrication Contractor in the Boston market. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

Responsibilities include :

Attend project start-up meetings with foremen to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the job's nuances and unique requirements.

Ensure they are well-prepared to execute the project efficiently.

Collaborate with field superintendents and foremen to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and adhering to the highest safety standards.

Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet project goals.

Coordinate effectively with fabrication teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to streamline operations and avoid delays.

Ensure all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Develop and nurture strong client relationships, aiming to maximize labor productivity while maintaining the highest level of quality.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.

Once trained, you will be responsible for soliciting bids, providing accurate job cost projections, preparing submittals, updating foremen, collaborating with peers, and managing conflicts.

Ensure all documentation and projections are precise and timely.

• Coordinate estimation projects in collaboration with the company president and vice president. Submit bids accurately and on time, ensuring competitive and comprehensive proposals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to secure bid opportunities for the company. Engage with potential clients to understand their needs and position the company as the preferred service provider.
• Become proficient in Revit over time, utilizing this software to enhance project planning and execution. Ensure that all design and planning work adheres to the latest industry standards.
• Assist with the implementation of any new software, ensuring that estimating team members are up to speed through a structured training program.

Facilitate smooth transitions to new tools and processes.

Engage in light travel to expand your knowledge of estimating software and other industry tools. Attend relevant training sessions, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on best practices and new technologies.

Qualifications :

• Must have at least 2+ years experience with HVAC / Sheet Metal project management and / or estimating
• Advanced in using estimating software, onscreen takeoff
• Experience in using Trimble Autobid Mechanical & Sheet Metal (a PLUS)
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
