Employment Counselor / Direct Support Professional Job Summary :
As an Employment Counselor, you will work with adults with developmental disabilities to build the skills necessary to gain and maintain competitive integrated employment.
Using our training, curriculum, and your own ingenuity and talent, you will help participants develop :
- Job readiness skills
- On the job hard and soft skills
- Coping strategies
- New behaviors
- Social skills
- Community resources
- And more!
Benefits :
- Salary starting at $20.00 per hour
- Bi-weekly mileage reimbursement ($0.67 cents per mile)

Duties & Responsibilities :
- Meet daily with 2 participants
- Plan and lead activities that support in the development of new skills and new behaviors related to your participants goals
- Support participants through job readiness and soft skills curriculum
- Support participants to develop coping skills that help them in their daily lives
- Provide transportation for participants to and from program activities
- Plan weekly schedules with participants focused around their goals
- Attend daily virtual staff meetings and bi-weekly 1 : 1’s with your manager
- Lead in person and virtual activities to support social connections between participants
- Once participants secure a job, provide support at their worksites to ensure success in their job duties
- Other duties as needed

Requirements :
- High school diploma
- A reliable car (4-door, minimum 4 seater)
- Clean driving record
- Clean background check
- Working computer and high-speed internet capable of connecting to Zoom
- CPR / FA certification (within 30 days of being hired; we reimburse this cost)
