Fire Protection Designer
We are currently seeking a Fire Protection Designer to become part of our company located in Knoxville, TN. This position reports to the Design Manager and will serve as a fire protection systems designer and requires the ability to :
- Work in a Team environment with a positive and helpful attitude
- Create accurate, complete and code compliant CAD / BIM design drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler and special hazards systems
- Self-start and work with minimal supervision
- Effectively manage design tasks, project schedules and deadlines Job Duties,
Responsibilities and Qualifications :
- NICET Certified Level III Water-Based Systems Layout
- 5+ years’ experience in the Fire Protection field.
- Proficient in AutoCAD / BIM Coordination.
- Practical experience with HASS calculation software / Word / Excel / etc.
- Verbal and written Communication skills.
- Working knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards.
- Prepare project drawings, specifications and schematics required to support the installation of fire protection systems
- Perform Hydraulic Calculations, Flow tests etc.
- Stock list drawings for fabrication
- Maintain project drawing files, and associate records, and documentation tracking& maintaining as-built drawings.
- Timely completion and processing of required paperwork.
- Attend job meeting and coordination meetings as needed per job.
