Discovery Senior Living is hiring a Director of Corporate and Investor Communications.

This role is remote, but candidates must live near a large metro airport.

The Director of Corporate and Investor Communications leads all aspects of external and internal communications and investor communications.

This role has heavy emphasis on supporting the organization's long-term growth strategy through development and implementation of an enterprise corporate communications plan and strategy, while maintaining brand standards.

This role will lead all enterprise business media opportunities, ensuring the organization is sharing consistent, impactful business communications to key audiences that are both external and internal to support and elevate the image of the Discovery family brand of companies.

Responsibilities :

  • Creates and executes an enterprise external communications strategy that supports company and business goals and elevates the organization's brand reputation.
  • Creates and executes an investor communications strategy to provide business updates on key enterprise priorities.
  • Cultivates relationships with trade organizations and appropriate external organizations and media to generate enterprise interviews, speaking opportunities, trade show presentations, and panel engagements to increase brand exposure and distinguish the organization as an industry leader.
  • Acts as a key counselor to senior leadership for all external executive positioning.
  • Tracks and provides recommendations to leadership around emerging trends, potential industry issues and / or brand reputation risks, developing reactive action plans and responses as needed.
  • Grow and support corporate digital presence, including the corporate website and social media channels
  • Point person and contact for seniors housing advocacy groups like American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) and Seniors Housing PAC (SHPAC)
  • Responsible for Industry and competitive tracking and research gathering to report to key stakeholders
  • Responsible for standardizing board meeting presentations and any communications needed for them
  • Manages and maintains corporate fact sheets, company / personnel bios and any company pitch books
  • Oversees brand positioning for : recruiting and retention and board and ownership
  • Create and Manage internal communications newsletter and communications strategy for internal teams, including quarterly employee update meetings
  • Create, Manage and keep updated corporate investor presentations, such as specialty decks and pitch books
  • Management of corporate award submissions
  • Oversee and manage external Communications / PR agency.
  • Develops, reviews, and approves press releases and identifies distribution channels.
  • Serve as lead internal and external communications consultant
  • Point person of contact for all reputational issues or crises management situations that impact the enterprise.
  • Develop crisis-related communications plans and works with others within the organization on protocols. Ensuring the company's crisis communications protocols are updated regularly, consistent and shared appropriately.
  • Coordinate regular crisis tabletop exercises with key members of enterprise leadership.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree, in PR or Communications-related field. Advanced degree a plus.
  • At least ten plus years of experience with external or marketing communications with a mid to large company either public or private;

In-house experience required, and agency experience preferred.

  • Five or more years of investor communications required.
  • Exceptional MS Office skills. Highly skilled with PowerPoint.
  • Occassional travel is required.
