The ideal candidate will have three to four years of business litigation experience. Cavitch prepares our Associates to be some of the best lawyers in the area by balancing learning opportunities with autonomy because our Associate Attorneys are given the freedom to handle all aspects of client cases.

When you join the firm, you will be joining a team of Associates who work closely together on client matters cases, client marketing events, committees, and planning outings for the firm.

  • Manage a diverse caseload of business litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to business disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Participate in all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting document review, and preparing witnesses for deposition.
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various business-related matters.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments, regulations, and case law impacting business litigation.
  • Assist senior attorneys in mentoring and training junior associates and legal staff.

Requirements :

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar of Ohio and in good standing.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience practicing law with a focus on business litigation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools and technology.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic legal team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work product.
  • Prior experience in drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and trial experience preferred but not required.
  • Minimal travel required.
