Job Description
Primary responsibility is to provide individual / group therapy and education / support services to patients, families and staff.
Provides mental health assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, referrals and information to patients and families. Offers direct support to the CARES clinic and various providers within the hospital inpatient and outpatient areas.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and other applicable standards as it related to client treatment, patient rights, and client / patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of psychological testing techniques, administration, and interpretation.
- Previous clinical responsibility to include individual and group psychotherapy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable of community resources.
- Able to work with people of all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds
- Flexible, open-minded and adaptable to change
- Demonstrated ability to connect patients and families with appropriate services
- Bilingual English / Spanish, preferred.
- Able to communicate orally and in writing in (English required) and (Spanish preferred) to include therapeutic counseling interventions.
Required Experience
Work Experience :
Two (2) years of experience in Pediatrics / Adolescents; counseling required. Experience in medical setting preferred.
License / Registration / Certification :
- Licensed as an LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, or LMFT-A in the State of Texas. Required.
- Current / temporary license and be in good standing with the State of Texas. Required.
Education and Training :
- Education equivalent to a master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university required.
