ADP is hiring a Sr Reliability Engineer .

You can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.

Are you empathetic to client needs and inspired by transformation and impacting the lives of millions of people every day?

Do you enjoy resolving issues and being the go-to person?

Are you looking to join a dynamic, inclusive team environment with a culture of collaboration and belonging?

Well, this may be the role for you. Ready to design what's next?

In this role, you will work with the development team to gather details on features we want to develop and use that information to build and execute product performance testing for ADP's cloud-based Human Resource solutions to determine customer usability before deployment.

This role is critical to making sure we deploy usable products. Your role requires you to advocate for necessary changes to improve the end-user experience of our products.

To thrive in this role, you'll need to be curious, persistent, and at times persuasive. You'll need to be familiar with other HCM or payroll products.

You'll use your leadership and persuasion with the product team to implement necessary fixes for the end user's benefit.

As a Sr Reliability Engineer, you'll also leverage your leadership and teaching skills to train and mentor junior-engineer professionals.

You will actively participate in architecture / design reviews and provide inputs from system performance scalability and stability perspectives for various NAS products.

You should have Database knowledge, understand AWR / ADDM reports, and be familiar with indexes and SQL optimization techniques are a big plus.

This role requires the skills and temperament needed to work in a very flexible, agile, self-managed fashion, on intense projects.

You will oversee the ongoing execution, governance, and maturity of the automation and performance testing areas. You will facilitate the reporting of your portfolio for leaders and stakeholder audiences using scorecards, metrics, and measures to demonstrate progress and promote alignment.

You should have strong analytical skills to :

  • Use consistent measurements and metrics.
  • Identify bottlenecks, and where they are occurring.
  • Effectively read results and interpret graphs.
  • Describe the relationship between queues and sub-systems (Little’s Law).

You should extend your experience on testing to :

  • Use any test tool / scripting, such as load runner and JavaScript.
  • Design effective tests.
  • Understand how to test concurrency, arrival rates, and scheduling.
  • Understand the roles of scalability, capacity, and reliability as quality attributes and requirements.
  • Understand how to set up / create test data and data management.

You should understand application performance management and have experience with system monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace / New Relic / Splunk, and can use and script the above tools to provide dashboards / alerts.

You also should have basic Cloud knowledge.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

Here's what you can expect on a typical day :

You understand that an agile QA environment requires flexibility. Working in two-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards.

Time constraints and fluidity of work often mean taking a creative approach to our testing strategy.

  • Create & Test. You'll create test plans, test cases, and scenarios for large-scale, complex software applications. You will focus on the verification and validation of applications from an end-user perspective.
  • We work collaboratively, so you will communicate and collaborate with technical developers and multiple stakeholders for your products.

You'll articulate clear and compelling reasons to persuade developers to make product changes for the end user's benefit.

  • You're always learning new technology and are eager to figure things out as you learn.
  • Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE :

  • You'll have a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent.
  • You’ll have 5-8 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.
  • Besides the proven experience and technical products mentioned above and working in an Agile environment testing iOS and Android native apps, experience with some of these products may give you extra comfort in the role :
  • Experience with Protractor or Angular Protractor / Selenium / JavaScript / Cucumber test automation framework to create complex test scenarios.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and provide metrics for End-to-end customer journey and NFR (SLO / SLA).
  • Web, Component-based, API, Database, and Cloud services performance execution using various technologies (LoadRunner, JMeter, Postman, SoapUI, Gremlin, ITKO / LISA), etc.
  • Chaos engineering, scalability, and durability testing.
  • Performance testing automation.
  • Identify bottlenecks (response times, concurrency), probing and monitoring (Dynatrace, Splunk), and identify optimizations for efficiency.

YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE BECAUSE YOU CAN :

  • Be yourself in a culture that values equity, inclusion, and belonging and creates a safe space for diverse perspectives and insights.
  • Belong by joining one of our Business Resource Groups to connect globally with networks and allies who share common interests and experiences.
  • Grow your career in an agile, dynamic environment with plenty of opportunities to progress.
  • Continuously learn through ongoing training, development, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Be your healthiest . Best-in-class benefits start on Day 1 because healthy associates are happy ones.
  • Focus on your mental health and well-being . We're here to provide exceptional service to our clients, and none of that happens without each of us taking care of ourselves and being there for one another.
  • Join a company committed to giving back and generating a lasting, positive impact upon the communities in which we work and live.
  • Get paid to pay it forward . Company-paid time off for volunteering for causes you care about.

What are you waiting for? Apply today!
