POSITIONSUMMARY
This position provides clinical nursingsupport to Williamson Health Medical Group by communicatingclinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling testsand consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessingpatients, performing clinical office procedures and maintainingadequate clinical supplies.
POSITIONREQUIREMENTS
Formal Education / Training :
High school diploma or equivalent. MedicalAssistant certification preferred.
Earned a nursingdiploma or degree from a college or university
Licensed bythe State of Tennessee.
Workplace Experience :
Atleast one year of experience in medical officeenvironment.
Equipment and Skills Training :
Mustbe competent in the use Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer,autoclave, stethoscope, audioscope,
business phone andvarious oral and injectable medications.
PhysicalEnvironment :
Office environment.
PhysicalEffort :
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, inEnglish, both orally and in writing and lift over 20pounds.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Accurately records patient's medical historyand vital signs.
- Gives patients immunizationsand injections as appropriate.
- Counselpatients on health related issues.
- Orders andmaintains medications.
- Coordinates outpatientcare with local businesses.
- Securesconsultations and specialists.
- Triages phonecalls.
- Prepares special drug and carerequest.
- Trains new employees within WHMGpulmonary and sleep medicine.
- Assistsphysician with med / surg procedures.
- Observesuniversal precautions.
- Monitors sample drugcloset.
- Observes proper lifting techniques toprevent injury.
- Coordinates with localpharmacies to insure patients have adequate supplies ofmedicine.
