Responsibilities :

Set up workstations to prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served

Apportions and serves food to students.

Ensures kitchen runs in accordance with all applicable health, safety, and hygiene codes and standards.

Assist in planning and execution of Special Events as arranged by management

Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies.

Experience with bulk food prep and production in a commercial kitchen setting

Qualifications

Required Skills / Abilities :

Ability to work well as part of a team.

Ability to follow ALL sanitation procedures

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.

Understanding of or the ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.

Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (deliveries, inventory).

Preferred Education and Experience :

2-3 years food service skills

Ability to pass a background check

High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.

Prior related experience preferred.
