The E-Commerce Governance & Experience team's mission is :

• Ensuring a safe and trustworthy marketplace for not only our buyers, but also our sellers and creators
• Enriching, Engaging and Empowering all customers by creating an exceptional experience through high quality products, content, and service
• Building state of the art ecosystem governance, data driven experience strategies, risk control solutions, operational processes as well as collaborating with many cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Backend Software Engineer at Data E-Commerce department will build state-of-art large-scale, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems to support complex content and product moderation, risk control, Large Language Models (LLM), etc.

In our team, you'll have the opportunity to fully utilize your expertise in coding, algorithms, and large-scale system design capabilities to manage complex technical challenges at scale.

Online Assessment

Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment through HackerRank.

Responsibilities

• Engage in and improve the end-to-end lifecycle of services from design, development, capacity planning, and launch reviews to deployment, operation, and optimizations;
• Working closely with Algorithm engineers on bleeding edge machine learning models ranging from NLP, CV to Large Language Models (LLM);
• Design and implement state-of-art service framework that provides robust and flexible integration capabilities for machine learning models and business policies;
• Optimize system scalability, reliability, sustainability, velocity, and architecture efficiency;
• Practice sustainable user support, incident response, and blameless postmortems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering discipline;

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Linux systems, and development experience in JavaScript, Python, Go, C++, or related languages;
• Experience with e-commerce or content moderation systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and collaboration skills;
• Ability to deep dive into complex technical problems
