What we do

Maverick BioMetals extracts lithium, other battery metals, and rare earth elements from hard rock using engineered enzymes.

Our process is more cost effective and greener (reduced environmental contaminants and CO2 emissions) than the current acid roasting extraction method.

The role

As the Director of Business Development at Maverick BioMetals, you will be a key member of our leadership team, reporting directly to the COO, Jesse Evans.

In this strategic role, you will spearhead our business development initiatives, drive commercial growth, and play a pivotal part in shaping the company's future.

You will lead the commercialization of our technology, build and maintain high-level commercial relationships, and develop comprehensive strategies to expand our market presence.

This role will be varied as company needs change, you can expect to be adaptive and proactive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company goals
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players and decision-makers
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and revenue streams
  • Oversee complex customer projects, ensuring seamless coordination between technical, operations, and executive teams
  • Collaborate with C-suite to define and implement company-wide growth strategies
  • Drive innovation in our business models and commercial approaches
  • Represent the company at industry events and negotiations

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in business development, with 10+ years in the mining industry
  • Extensive experience in the mining and mineral processing industry is required
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic business plans
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to close high-value deals
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics and ability to identify emerging trends
  • Advanced project management skills, including experience with complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, from technical teams to C-suite
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities
  • International business and / or lithium refining / mining experience is a plus
