Special Education Teacher
Location : Lebanon, TN
Position Type : Full-Time
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
- Use a variety of teaching techniques and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess students skills and learning needs and regularly track their progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their childs progress and needs.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching license with endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the educational and developmental needs of all students.
