The Role

This is a full-time position at our Roxbury location, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week . The Shelter Case and Placement Manager will work with families in various shelter settings to secure safe housing as quickly as possible using a strength-based, person-centered approach.

The responsibilities include :

• Assessing families' basic needs and providing support.
• Empowering families in their housing search and guiding them through the housing market.
• Developing rehousing plans and housing strategies with families to help them exit the shelter within 9 months.
• Entering data into databases, collecting and managing necessary documentation.
• Conducting weekly meetings and home visits, and accompanying families to housing appointments.
• Providing interventions and referrals for additional resources.
• Ensuring compliance with state and shelter policies, conducting weekly shelter inspections, and networking with community agencies.

What Youll Bring to the Team

• Bachelors degree in human services or a related field is preferred .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required .
• Ability to speak / write in Spanish and / or Haitian Creole preferred .
• Valid driver's license and a registered and insured reliable vehicle required ; must be willing and able to travel to local meetings.

Youll Stand Out If :

• You have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience entering data into ETO or Apricot .
• You have knowledge of community resources and agencies that will assist families with long-term goals and stability.
• You are organized and have the ability to communicate with empathy and clarity.
