We're searching for a Senior Software Engineer - Offline Mapping and Localization.
In this role, you will
- Write high-quality, highly testable code in a fast-paced environment.
- Own work streams across several verticals across the Offline Mapping system.
- Contribute to the development of a scalable and robust mapping framework and associated tooling.
- Engage with numerous teams across the org and external partners.
- Contribute to engineering best practices in a large and complex code base.
- Work closely with operational teams to refine highly critical production-level systems.
Required Qualifications
- Domain expertise in areas related to Robotics, SLAM, Numerical Optimization, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Meshing Algorithms, and Cloud Computing.
- Deep knowledge of linear algebra, computational geometry, or numerical methods.
- Strong software development skills using modern C++ (11, 14, 17, 20).
- Excellent communication and people engagement skills.
- BS or higher degree in robotics, computer science, software development, mathematics, or similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in autonomous vehicles, simulation, robotics, motion planning, localization, controls, computer vision or machine learning.
Desirable Qualifications
- Masters / PhD in computer science, robotics, mathematics, or another mapping related field.
- Sufficiently good development skills in Python.
- Experience with Lie groups (modern geometry).
- Experience writing localization or runtime mapping software.
The base salary range for this position is $168,000 - $252,000. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.
