Summary
The Manager, Leave Administration administer and monitor the Integrated leave Program while ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
The incumbent will work closely with the Workers' Compensation / Integrated Leave Program Manager to develop and implement improvements to the overall absence management process.
This will have significant role in personnel administration and employee relations. This function helps formulate management policies regarding worker conditions with regular access and analysis of confidential information that help formulate labor policies.
The incumbent may attend management meetings and be involved directly or indirectly in the decision making process around management positions during negotiations process.
Position requires exercise of independent judgment.
Responsibilities
Review FMLA applications, track and process paperwork, send out reminders for due dates, monitor approvals and denials of FMLA requests, answer FMLA questions for employees on what needs to be done, why a request was denied, contact them if more information is needed.
Oversight of the process for application of pay rules from policy and collective bargaining agreements to type of leave taken by employees through KRONOS coding, by supervising the work of HR Coordinators, processing overpayments and leave payment adjustments through LAWSON uploads.
Recommend process improvements and solutions to complex FMLA and attendance scenarios and overall improvements to absence management process.
Ensure accurate and timely communication and reporting (monthly and / or ad-hoc) of all attendance data to cascading levels of leadership in partnership with HRMS, Third Party Administrators, Supervisors, and / or Payroll.
Determine appropriate levels of corrective counseling in partnership with leadership and HR team. Compile and present department overview, training and specific absence control action plans to internal parties as needed and communicate and provide education of attendance policies and regulations to all employees.

Experience
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Management experience is required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field is required

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
