In this role you will :
Be responsible for excellent patient care and clerical assistance to the MRI department and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
This position assists the MRI Technologist and staff through support duties for patient care such as check in and check out, MRI exam set up and take down, data entry, clearance tasks, positioning patients and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities :
- Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to always ensure patient safety.
- Transfers patients from waiting room to MRI changing areas and to scan room.
- Prep and clean MRI room and changing rooms between patients.
- Has a thorough knowledge of MRI safety requirements including knowledge of the MRI environment.
- Set up scan table and correct coil for exam.
- Provides clerical assistance to MRI Technologists.
- Preps patient for MRI scan and completes initial screening and patient education.
- Helps with patient assistance, exam positioning, check in / out, signs order and complete encounters for billing, and daily clerical duties.
- Assisting patients with mobility limitations to / from changing rooms, on / off MRI table.
- Stocks, cleans, and assists with any duties requested from MRI management team.
- Sends communication to Physicians team regarding patients unable to tolerate scans due to claustrophobia, pain etc.
- Review MRI safety video and complete MRI safety training annually.
- Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma
- Educational background in Health Sciences or Human Anatomy, preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related computer software.
- Experience in radiology or medical terminology preferred,
- Previous healthcare experience including MRI safety and working directly with patients, a plus.
- Core competencies in communication, customer service, teamwork, detail oriented, and confidentiality.
- BLS / CPR certification.
- Must pass Safety Screening to work in MRI environment.
