Position : Medical Assistant
Facility : Cedar Sinai Medical Network
Location : 5411Etiwanda Ave, Tarzana, CA 91356
Pay range : $25 / hr
Hours : Day 5x8-Hour (08 : 00 17 : 00)
Assignment Duration : 13 weeks
12 hours non-billable orientation
Required Qualifications :
- Medical Assistant Certificate / Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
- 1 year working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
- Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
- Expertise with blood / lab draws and venipuncture - will draw 1-5 tubes from each patient. The clinic sees 100+ patients a day
Preferred Qualifications :
- 2+ years working as a MA in (specific speciality)
- Experience with CS-Link / Epic
- Phlebotomy certification (highly preferred)
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
Job Duties :
- Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, and review current meds and record in medical record
- Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data
- Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice
- Set up exam / procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs
- Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
- Administer immunisations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider
- Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider
