As a member of the tax team, our Senior Tax Manager will primarily be responsible for the Company’s annual Research and Development (R&D) tax studies (under IRC 41 and IRC 174), the identification and implementation of tax credits and incentives, and other special projects along with general income tax team support all in service of creating an economically sustainable health care system.

What You Bring to Cambia :
Qualifications :
A Bachelor's degree in Business and / or Accounting and a minimum of 12 years of tax experience in public accounting or private industry with at least 6 years having worked extensively on R&D tax matters.
An advanced degree in Taxation, Business, Computer Science, or Engineering or an active Certified Public Accountant license is also required.
Skills and Attributes :
In-depth knowledge of R&D tax credit (IRC 41) and capitalization matters (IRC 174) relating to software development, along with a proven track record of driving efficiencies and optimizing outcomes of each in a hands-on manner while producing complete, accurate, and sustainable studies under prevailing federal and state guidelines
Superior tax research, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Professional demeanor & high level of executive presence
Demonstration of curiosity, and sound judgement and instincts, with respect to evaluating complex tax matters
Strong leadership skills (team-focused, motivational, considers the big picture , accountable, etc.)
Ability to lead multiple competing priorities while remaining poised under pressure
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Ability to work with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools
Microsoft Office experience with a heavy emphasis on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams (interview, survey, and other unique features).
Experience with Power BI is a plus.
Additionally, knowledge of the following is required unless denoted otherwise :
Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Statutory accounting principles (SAP) - Preferred
Accounting for Income Tax (ASC 740)
The Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations
In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry - Preferred
What You Will Do at Cambia :
Will primarily be responsible for the Company’s annual Research and Development (R&D) tax studies (under IRC 41 and IRC 174), the identification and implementation of new tax credits and incentives, and other special projects.
Will team in supporting many of the daily operations of the Tax Department which include a variety of tax compliance, corporate tax accounting, and tax audit matters.
Will participate in and help direct the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of tax tools.
Will collaborate in monitoring and evaluating federal and state tax legislative matters, and assist in the communication of related tax effects including any new filing requirements.
Will present to both to the Tax Department, and to others at Cambia outside of the Tax Department, as needed.
Will ensure Cambia is in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.
The current full salary range for a Senior Tax Manager is $112,000.00 to $184,000.00 depending on skills, experience, education, and training;
relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 15%.
