MAJOR PROCESS
Accountable for the profitable sales growth & market position of Toro / Irritrol Irrigation and Unique Lighting Systems brands in the territory.
Execute Annual Plan growth initiatives of building increased demand, key product sales & new product development launches through the sales territory.
Maintain and grow business relationships with existing specifiers while identifying and converting new customers. Work in conjunction with Field Sales Team members to cultivate business relationships with key influencers & set strategic direction for specification & project activities in the territory.
Provides regular communication on business trends, opportunities, market situations, competitive position, and accurate business projections and forecasts to Specification Sales Manager, Channel Marketing, & Director of Sales.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Influence Specification, Demand Creation and Sales Growth : Maintain and grow demand with existing specifiers customers while driving new project conversions for Toro, Irritrol, & Unique Lighting Systems.
Focus to include building broader specification through Landscape Architects, Irrigation Consultants, SF&G, Design Build Firms, Builders, Municipal Customers, College & University’s, and other influencers.
Work in conjunction with our DSM / BDM / RSM team to maintain and grow existing customers & secure incremental sales through overall specification efforts.
Expand market position by growing sales volume of Toro Commercial Central Control. Manage all aspects of Toro CCC business at regional and local level.
Foster & build relationships with key influencers to secure retrofit of existing central control systems & new project opportunities
Track specifier & project conversions & targets utilizing ZOHO CRM. Provide monthly updates to top 20 targets including current year’s sales volumes.
Complete Monthly Activity Reports capturing Channel Updates, Wins / Conversions, & Challenges, Issues, & Needs
- Accelerate adoption for NPD projects & launches. Increase adoption of key LRP growth categories defined in Annual Plan
- Completion of Team Annual Planning document. Manage cost centers & Sales Allowance funding to maximize ROI & ensure profitable growth.
Other duties may be assigned to meet sales goals as determined by National Spec Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Level I Requirements : Education : Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. Experience : 4-5 years technical sales.
- Level II Requirements : Education : Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. Experience : 5-7 years technical sales.
- Training : Course work in management, turf, agronomy, or landscape, irrigation, and landscape design. Strong public speaking / platform skills.
Ability to provide technical assistance to sales team, improve sales skills, and improve base of industry knowledge..
- Mathematical skills : Ability to use a calculator to perform business math.
- Reasoning ability : Ability to effectively sell products, maintain, and develop long-term professional customer relationships.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Certificates / Licenses : Develop professional contacts through the region by participating in industry conventions, supporting education programs and college / university curriculums, and working trade shows and local meetings of ASLA, ASIC, etc.

- Position to be based remotely in Northern CA #LI-Remote.
- The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range;
compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $100,000 - $150,000 .
