Description : We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Fall River, MA, for an immediate placement in a school setting.
This position is crucial for our Extended School Year (ESY) Program, specifically to support a 12-year-old male student who is wheelchair-bound and requires specialized care due to cerebral palsy and seizure disorder.
Educational Requirements :
Valid LPN license in Massachusetts
Responsibilities :
- Provide one-on-one nursing care to a 12-year-old male student with cerebral palsy and seizure disorder during school hours and transport in a wheelchair van.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor student's health and update medical records.
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to ensure student's well-being and educational participation.
Certifications :
- CPR certification
- Experience with Gtube feeding
Additional Information : This position offers a 10-month contract with potential for extension into the 2024-2025 school year based on performance and mutual interest.
The ESY Program runs from July 8th to August 9th on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 7 : 45am to 1 : 15pm, including wheelchair van transports.
Urgent Need : Westport desperately requires a 1 : 1 LPN for ESY. A nurse cancellation has left a student unable to attend school without dedicated nursing support.
