Job Summary
This position is directly responsible for the timekeeping system "Ecotime by HBS" including all aspects of systems implementation including requirements gathering, analysis and design, configuration and testing, deployment, and support of the system and interfaced applications.
This system includes processing and transmission of 26 biweekly and 13 monthly cycles each year as well as one-off procedures for stipends, bonuses, merit increases, and historical adjustments.
This position will have or develop a deep understanding of payroll, union contracts, UC Davis procedures, rules, guidelines and corresponding Campus and UCOP policies to ensure timely and accurate treatment by employee classification and representation.
This position requires vendor coordination / management and partnership with campus and school information technology and payroll groups, and HR / payroll staff of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and will work to define business needs and align systems to organizational goals, provide technical support, testing, and training for Ecotime and Ecotime clocks including research, problem identification, regression testing, application configuration updates, and documentation.
This position will serve as the interface between AUSS-C / VMTH / SVM-IT and UCD Health HR / IT / Finance management and staff and will work with a high degree of independence and decision-making.
The position will work on cross functional teams and with subject matter experts. Highly effective communication skills to diverse audiences are essential.
This role will work closely with the Ecotime Partnership Governance Team, establishing priorities and acceptable timelines.
This role may be required to work outside traditional business hours to meet critical needs of the unit.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Experience supporting HR, payroll, or other time and attendance systems including configuration, issue resolution, testing, and designing new functions or processes.
- Experience supporting multiple, interconnected applications or systems with complex business rules or requirements. Experience developing and documenting systems and workflows to improve business processes.
- Experience creating, reviewing, and documenting business reports or exports. Experience in data analysis and business intelligence reporting and MS Excel.
- Experience independently researching, compiling and analyzing information from a variety of applications to identify and reconcile anomalies.
- Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and / or provide information to clarify situations and resolve problems.
Experience coordinating with non-technical staff for systems analysis, business process engineering, documentation, and training.
Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities.
Strong understanding of business processes, system architecture, and advanced analytical techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ecotime time and attendance systems including the user interface, reports, exports, configuration management, rule definitions, and integration points.
- Experience in a 24 / 7, complex, medical, or multi-contract environment.
- Experience with SQL, stored procedures, and Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- An understanding of the data security and privacy challenges unique to payroll and higher education environments. Ability to recognize the need for and maintain security of confidential information, exercise judgment, tact and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information or situations.
