Lawndale Pet Hospital is a fully equipped small animal hospital that provides veterinary care to patients of the Los Angeles, CA suburb and neighboring areas.

We are seeking an associate to join our enthusiastic and dedicated team. If spending your day with busy, smart, and hard-working people is your thing, then we have the job for you! We are looking for an Associate Veterinarian who is ready to provide top-notch care for animals in our thriving clinic.

When we say you will have flexible scheduling and a work-life balance, we mean it! You will work 4 days a week and no weekends! That gives you more time to enjoy life in sunny California! Our office provides great mentorship and over time, this practice could become yours! About the Hospital Our clinic experiences high traffic as we are a walk-in clinic.

But we are well-equipped with technology and equipment that will allow you to provide a wide range of services for animals.

Some of these services are electronic digital X-rays, a full IDEXX lab in-house, orthopedic surgery, pain management, emergency / critical care, dental care, and we have several mobile vets to offer relief! We have an online pharmacy for convenience as well! Education and Experience Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent (i.

e. VMD) from an accredited university, and license to practice in the state of CA required Current CE completion based on state licensure requirements required Computer and software skills required Critical Qualities and Behavioral Competencies Exhibit Practice Values Through Established Values-Based Behaviors Bring Your Best Self Every Day Leadership Pride and Accuracy in Execution Critical & Strategic Thinking Skills Accountability Willingness to Learn Eagerness to Teach Resilience Adaptability Confidence in Decision-Making & Problem Solving Strength in Listening & Communication Skills Strength in Project and Change Management Professional Growth and Planning Mindset Functional Duties Attend and participate in practice team meetings Attend regular meetings with Owner and Practice Manager Adhere to the veterinary Code of Ethics Deliver exceptional client service at all times Deliver exceptional patient care at all times Practice high quality, compassionate medicine and surgery Manage multiple cases at one time Empower team to produce high quality, efficient medicine and client service Develop SOPs and Patient Care Standards with fellow veterinarians, providing consistent client messaging through all team members Promote a client-centric and patient-centric practice environment Deliver in-house medical training Maintain a positive, cooperative working relationship with all team members Maintain complete recordkeeping standards in medical records Perform physical examinations Initiate and interpret diagnostics Initiate treatments and adjust according to patient condition Perform sterile surgery, including (but not limited to) spays, neuters, lacerations, and mass removals Extract teeth in alignment with current industry standards of care Prescribe medication in accordance with manufacturer’s label instructions Understand and communicate common medication side-effects and drug interactions with clients Promptly and accurately update patient records using the SOAP format Understand and carry out treatment orders from other veterinarian’s cases in their absence adjust treatment plans based on patient condition or diagnostic results Other duties that make a positive impact on the practice Employment Type : Full Time Bonus / Commission : Yes
