Civil Engineer-Land Development

Description :

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with broad expertise in land development and / or site / civil / heavy construction project management to perform investigations and analyses, prepare reports, and provide expert testimony where technical knowledge, skill, experience, training and / or education are needed to help resolve civil litigation and insurance claims.

The ideal candidate will have extensive construction management experience, plus at least some design experience, in land development, including a thorough working knowledge of contracts, safety, construction means & methods, scheduling, estimating, subcontractor management, and quality control.

Experience in community development or residential land development is preferred. Some experience in commercial land development, commercial construction, single-family home construction, commercial recreational construction, and / or heavy construction is a plus.

Requirements :

  • PE license required
  • B.S. Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution is required
  • 15+ years hands-on experience in land development and / or site / civil / heavy construction project management
  • Experience with safety requirements and issues on construction sites
  • Ability to safely climb and navigate ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc. as needed for inspection activities.
  • Willing to travel about 20% on average
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a comprehensive team
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing and communication skills
