Open Text Developer – 6+ month contract, 100% remote (EST), Phone then Video

Required Skills

  • OpenText Exstream Cloud, Exstream 16.4+
  • Installation & configuration of OpenText Exstream
  • Design Manager / Designer, Communication Designer, Content Author, Workshop, Job Orchestration
  • Tenant & Domain concepts
  • Batch processing, Print, PDF, Email configurations, scripting
  • OpenText System troubleshooting & end-to-end implementations
  • Patching & tuning of applications
  • New development from scratch (not maintenance)
  • Data Sections, Object Flow, Sorting

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts & stakeholders to understand document / template requirements and workflow processes.
  • Design and develop templates using OpenText technologies, focusing on layout, data integration, branding.
  • Configure and map data sources (XML, databases, APIs) for templated documents, ensuring dynamic population of content fields.
  • Implement custom scripts or business logic to automate conditional formatting, calculations, decision-based content inclusion / exclusion.
  • Ensure templates and documents meet ADA & accessibility standards.
  • Set up multi-channel output (PDF, HTML, print, email, etc.) and ensure compliance, accessibility, branding.
  • Conduct thorough template testing (unit, integration, UAT) to verify output correctness, performance, system compatibility.
  • Analyze and resolve template generation issues and provide root-cause analysis.
  • Create & maintain technical documentation for templates, integration points, user guides.
  • Monitor & tune template performance for high-volume or complex processes.
  • Collaborate with QA, business users during SIT and UAT phases, addressing defects and ensuring functional acceptance.
