Chef Thomas Keller's Surfside destination, The Surf Club Restaurant , is seeking talented and capable individuals who are enthusiastic about food, beverage , and hospitality to join the team as a Captain .
In this role, under the guidance of the Dining Room Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience by showcasing in-depth knowledge of the restaurant's cuisine, wine, and service standards.
As a Captain, you will lead the service team through effective communication and delegation, ensuring smooth coordination and providing a seamless dining experience that reflects the restaurant’s high standards and culture.
Located within the Four Seasons Hotel at the iconic Surf Club, Chef Keller’s restaurant honors the location’s history of good times and grand parties with classic Continental cuisine for a modern audience.
Like the swinging patrons of the '50s and '60s hotspots this restaurant celebrates, The Surf Club Restaurant knows how to have fun.
Responsibilities :
- Lead Guest Experience : Warmly greet guests, present menus, answer inquiries, and take food and beverage orders while ensuring special needs such as allergies are noted.
- Oversee Service Team : Communicate with Sommeliers, Back Servers, and other team members to ensure smooth service and proper delegation.
- Ensure Satisfaction : Monitor the dining experience, promptly responding to guest requests and ensuring a high level of satisfaction with food and service.
- Handle Payments : Prepare the final bill, present it to guests, and process payments accurately.
- Uphold Cleanliness Standards : Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all service areas are well-kept.
- Participate in Pre-Shift & Training : Attend pre-shift meetings and training sessions to stay informed on menu updates and wine pairings, while also helping with the training of new team members.
Qualifications :
- 5 years of service experience in Fine Dining, preferably Michelin-starred restaurant.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Certificate from a Culinary or Hospitality School preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in POS systems (Micros), MS Excel, and MS Word.
- State Health Certification is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
