About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead strategic initiatives in revenue generation, marketing, and brand awareness.
The CDO will be responsible for maximizing fundraising opportunities and diversifying funding sources, with a focus on spearheading the Development, Corporate Partnerships, and Marketing and Communications departments.
This role involves crafting compelling narratives for potential donors, collaborating with internal teams to identify funding opportunities, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The CDO will also manage major gift cultivation, individual contributions, and corporate partnerships, ensuring that all strategies align with the organization's mission and enhance its brand visibility.
Candidates for the CDO position should have a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of successful experience in revenue development, fundraising, and brand management.
Experience in major gift solicitation, individual giving, planned giving, and earned revenue programs is required. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to gather and interpret data for marketing and development strategies, and a proven track record in securing major gifts.
A CFRE certification is highly desired, and the role may require up to 40% travel for fundraising events. The CDO will also be responsible for leading and empowering a team, overseeing the organization's donor management systems, and ensuring a seamless donor journey.
