Specialist, Procurement
Job Description :
L3Harris is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role you will plan and implement activities related to the procurement of materials, goods and services in compliance with the regulatory requirements.
Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and / or services. Send RFQs to obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards.
Additionally duties include but are not limited to :
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings / schematics to understand the procurement and manufacturing requirements.
- Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and / or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
- Ensure supplier compliance via an internet supplier portal (eXpo PO tracking) and responsible for item part data attribute accuracy.
- Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
- Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers.
- Prepare proposal requests consistent with the requirements of the contract.
- Solicit and award purchase orders consistent with the requirements of the contract.
- Participate and contribute to departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives.
Required (Basic) Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Knowledge of Supply Chain principles, procurement processes and concepts.
- Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
- Experience purchasing parts and / or services
- Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years’ experience in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MRP system
- Advanced Excel skills including use of pivot tables, lookup tables, etc.
