Job Title : Special Education Teacher
Location : West Chicago, IL 60185
Shift : Day Shift, 5x7.5-Hour (07 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM)
Duration : 28 weeks
Responsibilities :
- Teach in a self-contained classroom for Kindergarten to 1st Grade students.
- Manage a class of 6 students with special education needs.
- Collaborate daily with 2 dedicated paraprofessionals, a social worker (SW), and a speech-language pathologist (SLP).
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring progress in their academic and personal development.
- Monitor student progress and report to parents and other school personnel regularly.
Requirements :
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 Endorsement (Learning Behavior Specialist I) is required.
- Experience working with young children with diverse special education needs.
