Alameda Health System ishiring! The New Grad RN Program gives an opportunity for recentgraduates that have obtained their CA RN License, under closesupervision, to provide nursing care to patients, includingmedications and treatment.
DUTIES& ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Thefollowing are the duties performed by employees in thisclassification. However, employees may perform other related dutiesat an equivalent level.
Not all duties listed are necessarilyperformed by each individual in the classification.
- Accompanies, assists, and represents the needs ofpatients to other providers.
- Accuratelyprovide care with respect to medication administration, skin andwound care, ADL's and other essential patient care relatedactivities.
- Develops, implements, evaluatesand makes modifications in the nursing care plan; prepares requiredrecords and reports.
- Gathers and assessinformation about patients to meet nursing needs; assists andconsults with physician in the performance of procedures anddiagnostic tests;
contracts physicians and / or other departments toobtain or provide patient information.
Mayprovide oversight to staff who monitor telemetry systems; alertsprimary nurse of changes in underlying rhythms and of any lifethreatening arrhythmias that may develop;
interprets and poststelemetry strips at the hours specified; admits and dischargespatients with telemetry units as appropriate.
- Participates in promoting a healthful, safe, andtherapeutic environment for patient and families; set up andcontrols the environment essential for infectioncontrol.
- Participates in the implementation ofpatient care standards, infection control standards and qualityassurance criteria;
assist with conducting studies; participates inunit and other meetings.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Graduate of anaccredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursingpreferred.
RequiredLicenses / Certifications : BLS - Basic LifeSupport Certification issued by the American HeartAssociation.
PreferredLicenses / Certification : ACLS - Advanced CardiacLife Support Certification - issued by AHA -American HeartAssociation, may be required per facility or unit / departmentspecialty according to patient care policies.
RequiredLicenses / Certifications : CPI - CrisisPrevention Intervention Training (Required for all positions in theEmergency Department - training to be provided by theFacility.)
RequiredLicenses / Certifications : PALS - PediatricAdvanced Life Support Certification- AHA American Heart Association(Required for Emergency Department or if overseeing or providingpediatric care on a regular basis - to be obtained within 6 monthsof hire).
RequiredLicenses / Certifications : Valid license topractice as a Registered Nurse in the State ofCalifornia.
