Senior Archaeologist / Cultural Resources Manager
Job Description Senior Archaeologist / Cultural Resources Manager Sequence is seeking a Senior Archaeologist / Cultural Resources professional to lead and oversee technical activities of a growing independent environmental consulting firm practice with a backload of significant infrastructure projects.
Our client, a multidisciplinary environmental services firm with multiple branch offices in the western United States, had an internal retirement earlier this year.
That departure resulted in several professionals doing double duty managing both field and consultative efforts. This is a very unique opportunity with a first-class organization.
Company leadership has tasked us with finding a key individual to join the firm whose efforts would primarily be focused on in-office technical consulting, report writing, regulatory initiatives, and client relationship management.
Though there would be responsibilities with field efforts, it is a more corporate-based management and leadership position.
The ideal individual would have at least 8+ years of experience in working as a cultural resource professional with at least 4+ years leading a practice group in all aspects of technical and operational guidance.
This would include providing all California based group oversight for the initiation, development, completion, and review of research, cultural resource studies, field data collection / surveys, Phase I & II Assessments, and mitigation studies for compliance to CEQA / NEPA documentation.
Ideally, with background undertaking extensive infrastructure and public works projects with an understanding of forest service and bureau of land management.
Candidates must be technical experts with CEQA / NEPA compliance, regulatory permitting, Assembly Bill 52, and section 106 with the national historic preservation act.
This is a crucial group leadership opportunity with budgeting, delivery, project scoping, business development / marketing participation, technical direction, and staff mentoring responsibilities.
The role requires a Degree in Archeology, Anthropology, Cultural Resources Management, or related discipline. Ph.D. Desired.
Registered Professional Archeologist required. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
