Administrative Assistant 4
The Administrative Assistant 4 provides high-level administrative support to the Chair of the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) at the Columbus campus. This role requires independent decision-making, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting departmental operations and communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Chairs appointment calendar and coordinate daily activities.
- Prepare agendas, schedule meetings, and support departmental communications.
- Draft and respond to correspondence on behalf of the Chair.
- Arrange and process travel requests, reimbursements, and PCard expense reports using Workday.
- Coordinate travel and lodging for guests and visitors.
- Maintain office supplies and oversee general administrative needs.
- Organize and manage faculty promotion and tenure documentation and activities.
- Assist with faculty and staff recruitment, including interview coordination.
- Maintain faculty CVs and prepare administrative reports (e.g., program reviews, accreditation self-studies, strategic plans).
- Support the development and maintenance of departmental documents such as the Pattern of Administration and Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure guidelines.
- Manage faculty and staff performance evaluations and related documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.Certification or vocational training may be required.Minimum of 4 years of relevant administrative experience.Associate degree in a relevant field preferred.Experience with Workday or similar systems preferred.Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of administrative experience in a higher education or research environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other administrative tools.Familiarity with university policies and procedures.The offer for this position will fall within the range of $24.76-$32.33 / hr based on internal equity, units available budget, and the candidates qualifications.
