Summary / Purpose of Position : We are seeking a dedicated Senior Packaging Engineer to join ourteam. The successful candidate will plan organize and coordinateall packaging engineering and labelingrelated activities to supportthe development and commercialization of new products and lineextensions.
This role includes ensuring compliance witheverchanging regulatory and industry requirements and implementingnew packaging concepts materials and systems.
Essential Duties and PositionResponsibilities :
- Support New Product Team and LineExtension Activities :
- Conceptdevelopment
- Project plans andschedules
- Design reviews and design formanufacturability
- Develop prototype packagingandtooling
- Launchand Commercialize New Products and Line Extensions :
- Concept and development ofpackaging methods and processes
- Coordination ofnew tooling and equipment
- Coordination oflabeling
- Development and release of new productand process documentation
- Creation of testprotocols and technical reports
- Planningordering and coordination of new componentinventory
- Qualification and validation of newcomponents equipment processes andoperations
- New product cost estimates forpackaging
- Preparation ofAFEs
- TransferNew Products and Line Extensions to Manufacturing :
- Development and managementfor packaging requirements of the transferplan
- Development and release of packagingdocumentation
- Creation of test protocols andtechnicalreports
- ProvidePackaging Engineering Support to Manufacturing :
- Assess and develop actionplans to overcome packagingrelated manufacturingissues
- Support cost improvement programs andmanufacturing improvement plans related to productpackaging
- Provide technical leadership fortechnical initiatives CAPA resolutions and complianceprojects
Qualifications Knowledge and SkillsRequired :
- EducationalRequirements :
- B.S. degree in PackagingEngineering / Packaging Science Life Sciences or other Engineeringfield with a minimum of five years in packaging engineering anddesign
- M.S. degree in PackagingEngineering / Packaging Science Life Sciences or other Engineeringdiscipline with a minimum of four years of relevantexperience
- Experienceand Skills :
- Experience in the medicaldevice or pharmaceutical industriespreferred
- Ability to handle a variety ofassignments simultaneously
- Knowledge andexperience with ISO 116071 and 116072
- Highlevel of written and verbal communicationskills
- Knowledge of FDA requirements forsterile nonsterile disposable and reusabledevices
- Ability to conceptualize ideas motivateand focus individuals and teams and drive projects to completion ontime and on budget
- Broad knowledge of materialsused in primary and secondary packaging packaging methods andequipment
- Working knowledge of package testmethods process validation bar coding and internationalstandards
- Some travelrequired.
