The Special Education Teacher isresponsible for IEP development and case management data collectiondifferentiation and intervention for academic and / orsocialemotional needs technology integration and ability to workwith different professions therapist and agegroups.

TheSpecial Education would be responsible for working with childrenwho have a broad range of disabilities including cognitiveemotional or physical disabilities at a elementary school.
Teachesdisabled youth life skills and basic literacy and modifies thegeneral education curriculum to meet the childsneeds.

PrimaryResponsibilitiesinclude :
- Demonstratesknowledge of second language learning patterns and best practicesin English languagedevelopment.
- Plansand delivers lessons in English languagedevelopment.
- Collaborateswith classroom teachers and specialists to ensure achievement ofELLs across contentareas.
- Administersformative and summative assessments to monitor progress and ensurestudentachievement.
- Possessesthe skills necessary for serving as a liaison between the schooland thehome.
- Demonstratesthe ability to communicate effectively with classroom teachersadministration andfamilies.
Requirements
- Provenexperience as a Special Education Teacher or relevantrole
- Experienceworking with children with a wide range ofdisabilities
- Bachelorsin Special Education; Masters degree aplus
- Haveor be eligible to apply for an Illinois PEL with special education(LSB1)endorsement
- Mustbe able to work up to 37.5 hours perweek.
