About The Position
Job Title : Seasonal Physical Therapist Job Specialty : Rehabilitation Services Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day - 5x8 - 08 : 00 AM - 04 : 00 PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours Experience : Minimum of one year of full-time acute care specific experience or two years of skilled nursing / inpatient rehab facility experience or two years of acute care specific experience when working part-time.
License : Valid permanent license as a Physical Therapist from the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy Certifications : Proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education obtained within the recent 4 months Must-Have : Acute clinical therapy experience Job Description : Implement physician's orders for physical therapy services within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate the patient's return to an independent and safe lifestyle.
- Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, utilizing knowledge of growth and development principles.- Perform patient evaluations with appropriate functional tests / measures, constructing short-term, long-term, and personal / family goals to establish a therapy diagnosis and appropriate care plan.
- Tolerate physically demanding tasks, ensuring the safety of both self and patients.- Maintain secure documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.
- Utilize critical thinking in patient evaluation and treatment planning.- Understand and appropriately apply moist heat and other physical modalities.
- Work as a team member to assist patients / families throughout their entry into acute therapy care systems.- Identify and cater to the learning needs of patients or family members.
- Perform other reasonably related job duties as assigned.- Constantly engage in physical activities such as walking, balancing, lifting, and handling up to 50 pounds.
