Job Duties :
Responsible for the overall execution of low to moderately complex projects including safety, risk management, quality, schedule, technical aspects, achieving client objectives, and profitability.
May be assigned to manage activities at the project, phase, and task or organizational level of a project. Depending upon the project, serve as either phase project manager, client project manager, or both.
May serve as a client manager for specific clients. Communicate, implement, follow, and monitor all S&ME and client safety requirements.
Schedule internal / external personnel and equipment to complete projects. Confirm project personnel has the appropriate level of experience or specialized knowledge.
Track project progress and communicate to the client project manager if adjustments of staffing or equipment are necessary.
Monitor scope, schedule, and budget. Request change order(s) from the client, if appropriate. Review project technical input as it relates to the final deliverable.
Communicate unexpected results or findings to the client project manager. Conduct project closeout activities. Meet with clients to discuss project objectives and requirements.
May negotiate the scope of work and terms & conditions of a client's contract. Administer project budgets that include BST project setup.
Be attentive to out-of-scope work and delays. Communicate with clients regarding interim milestone progress dates or delayed dates, if appropriate.
Verify invoices are prepared and submitted in accordance with client requirements. Collect overdue client invoices. Responsible for project profitability and success.
Cross-sell to clients, including both services and locations. Maintain and / or grow revenue with select key clients. Set and monitor client revenue and satisfaction goals.
Develop client relationships at multiple levels and geographical locations, if applicable. Establish contract terms and a fee schedule for each client.
May establish client MSAs. Understand client's safety requirements and communicate them to all CPMs. Communicate client invoicing requirements.
Understand the client's deliverable requirements and communicate them to all CPMs. Establish revenue goals and other project metrics.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related engineering or construction field, or any equivalent combination of work experience and vocational training.
- Must have 8 years of construction engineering industry experience including 3 years as a Project Manager, Project Associate, or a related occupation.
- Must have demonstrated experience in staff leadership, development, and management; business metrics; sales; client development and service;
- safety policies and procedures; risk management concepts; project management procedures; planning, monitoring, and managing location budgets;
- subcontractor and sub-consultant management; utilization and multiplier concepts relating to profitability; accounting and P&L statements;
and project technical aspects. Must have a valid driver's license. Up to 20% local travel is required.
Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.
