Your day-to-day work will include :

Candidate will assist USSOCOM with achieving and maintaining auditable financial statements. The candidate shall rapidly and efficiently conduct activities necessary to identify and improve financial reporting deficiencies in accordance with accelerated Office of Under Secretary of Defense Comptroller (OUSD(C)) Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) guidance.

Within USSOCOM, the Chief Financial Officer / Comptroller of Special Operations Financial Management (SOFM) is the lead for these efforts.

The candidate will be expected to work at times as an independent team composed solely of prime and sub-contractor personnel and other times as part of an integrated team composed of contractor and Government personnel.

Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Support Audit Remediation and Sustainment Efforts
• Support the creation, maintenance, testing, remediation, and validation of business processes owned by USSOCOM and / or impacting USSOCOM’s internal control environment and / or Financial Statements
• Coordinate monthly briefing slides for each change management project.
• Support the creation, development, and resolution of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
• Audit Liaison Services

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

• Less than 2 years’ experience as an Accountant, Auditor, Data Management Specialist, Information Technology or general financial consultant supporting private-sector accounting;
• financial reporting, data management and analysis, information technology general or application controls, applying pertinent financial accounting standards board (FASB) policies;

performing financial statement audits in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), or general financial management and process improvement consulting.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business / Accounting / Finance / Data Management / Information Technology or other discipline relevant to the business process area being supported.

Work Type : OnSite, San Diego, CA

Clearance Requirements : Able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for specified work location; able to work off-site until required security clearance is obtained.

Work hours :
