Our Pediatric Critical Care Division is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to drive forward our mission of delivering exceptional care and outcomes.

The Senior Data Scientist will play a critical role in utilizing clinical healthcare data to derive insights, inform decision-making, and optimize patient care.

This is a unique opportunity to merge the realms of data science and pediatric critical care, making meaningful contributions to the betterment of children's health.

Job Duties

  • Design and implement advanced statistical analyses on complex clinical healthcare datasets.
  • Lead and participate in multicenter studies, ensuring accurate data gathering and interpretation.
  • Secure extramural funding to support innovative research projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and data specialists.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the academic growth of the division.
  • Participate in divisional and institutional seminars, workshops, and teaching sessions.
  • Expertise with physiologic signal processing in time series (in particular, ECG waveforms) and their direct application / translation to machine learning models.
  • Experience leading an NIH funded, academic data science team, with a track record of success.
  • Experience with leveraging integrated data and analytics platforms, such as Palantir, in leveraging patient level data to model critical care outcomes.

Additional information :

  • Experience in pediatrics or intensive care settings.
  • Proven track record in teaching and mentorship.
  • Participation in multicenter studies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in analyzing clinical healthcare data.
  • A robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Prior success in securing extramural funding.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in leading research teams.
  • Familiarity with pediatric or intensive care data is highly desired.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred :

  • Experience in pediatrics or intensive care settings.
  • Proven track record in teaching and mentorship.
  • Participation in multicenter studies.
