Our Pediatric Critical Care Division is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to drive forward our mission of delivering exceptional care and outcomes.
The Senior Data Scientist will play a critical role in utilizing clinical healthcare data to derive insights, inform decision-making, and optimize patient care.
This is a unique opportunity to merge the realms of data science and pediatric critical care, making meaningful contributions to the betterment of children's health.
Job Duties
- Design and implement advanced statistical analyses on complex clinical healthcare datasets.
- Lead and participate in multicenter studies, ensuring accurate data gathering and interpretation.
- Secure extramural funding to support innovative research projects.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and data specialists.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the academic growth of the division.
- Participate in divisional and institutional seminars, workshops, and teaching sessions.
- Expertise with physiologic signal processing in time series (in particular, ECG waveforms) and their direct application / translation to machine learning models.
- Experience leading an NIH funded, academic data science team, with a track record of success.
- Experience with leveraging integrated data and analytics platforms, such as Palantir, in leveraging patient level data to model critical care outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in analyzing clinical healthcare data.
- A robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications.
- Prior success in securing extramural funding.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in leading research teams.
- Familiarity with pediatric or intensive care data is highly desired.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred :
- Experience in pediatrics or intensive care settings.
- Proven track record in teaching and mentorship.
- Participation in multicenter studies.
