Join us in advancing Sony's commitment to sustainability by participating in our Summer 2024 internship program. This project focuses on minimizing waste to landfill to achieve Sony's Green Management 2025 target at Sony facilities and enhancing the sustainability of company events, both in-house and external.

As an intern, you will contribute to integrating sustainable practices, including zero-waste strategies, and resource conservation, while establishing sustainable event policies and benchmarks for office practices.

Project Overview : The project aims to build on Sony's sustainability efforts to enhance employee engagement initiatives and deepen engagement with broader stakeholders through sustainability.

The intern will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing sustainable initiatives for Sony site operations and promoting integration of sustainability into various events, ultimately helping Sony lead by example in environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct research to understand current best practices in 'green events' and benchmark 'green office' sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop a policy incorporating sustainable elements into Sony's event management practices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste to landfill at Sony Electronics sites and implement targeted sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program. Preferred course backgrounds include environmental studies, sustainability, or event management.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Availability to participate in the program from June through the end of August.
  • Ability to commit to at least 20 hours per week, with in-office presence required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and remote work on Thursdays.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $24.00 to $36.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.

The actual base wage offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job.
