FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Psychology at the College of Staten Island is seeking an Assistant Professor with a promising program of research in any area.
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in their research area and will be able to teach courses appealing to undergraduates both in that area and in broader domains of psychology, such as research methods or a version of one of our experimental psychology courses.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred qualifications include :
Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related discipline. Highest priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate promise of becoming outstanding scholars with research programs that can be supported by external funding, excellence in teaching through advancing and supporting initiatives that deepen pedagogical knowledge and sustain motivated learning in students, and the ability to provide research mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
The Department of Psychology strongly emphasizes research. The department offers excellent facilities, including individual lab space, in-house tech support, an ample and well-organized subject pool and the High Performance Computing Center ( ).

COMPENSATION
$75,465 - $90,375
