The Digital Services & Software (DSS) team is on a mission to build the best place on earth for customers to discover, purchase and enjoy video games and software.
We are looking for a Sr Software Development Engineer for the Digital One-time-purchases team, focused on building out a next generation system with new features to support our goal of becoming the best possible connection between producers and consumers of digital software and video games content.

Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.

Key job responsibilities
As a technical leader, you will have influence over the long term strategic needs of the team, the short term tactical wins, and the tradeoffs between them.
You will guide other team members to create robust, scalable designs, own development of critical path code, and lead processes that improve quality and reduce operational load on the team.
As a person with a high technical bar, you will participate in people development and hiring, ensuring we're hiring the right type of people for the team's long term needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
