JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL SUMMARY
This is a full-time experienced clerical position. Work involves performing a variety of clerical and
administrative support functions and requires considerable independent judgment. The individual in
this position will be responsible for assisting the Security Manager with court security administrative
and coordination functions. Employees in this position may be required to travel during the regular
course of business, and are subject to transfer or reassignment at the discretion of the Director of the
Administrative Office of the Courts.
REPORTING LINES
This position reports to the Security Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities over
subordinate staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The normal work day for Judicial Branch employees shall consist of work normally performed
between the hours of 7 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Monday through Friday; however, the normal work day
may be adjusted based on the needs of the court location.
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties
and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to
perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Assists with scheduling, tracking time records, recruitment efforts, and correspondence related
to court security.
Records and tracks information in appropriate files and systems, and enters data in programs
and systems including but not limited to scheduling, time management, payroll, and
performance evaluations.
Checks and reviews incoming and outgoing documents for completeness and accuracy of
information; opens, date stamps, sorts, and distributes mail.
- Files records, organizes the filing system, and retrieves files as needed.
- Answers email and telephone inquiries and redirects inquiries as appropriate.
- Coordinates education and training programs and events; compiles evaluation results.
- Tracks and maintains training and certification requirements.
- Records and tracks data and information as it relates to court security, updating and
maintaining reports.
Performs other related work as required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Two (2) years of related work experience.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required
skills, knowledge and abilities.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must successfully pass motor vehicle and criminal record checks.
