The Role :
We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to be a critical member within our engineering team. The Senior Design Engineer will play a vital role in the overall strategy of growth and development within the company.
The position will be responsible for supporting all divisions at KOCSIS USA relating to new / existing product design, manufacture, assembly, testing and more.
You will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the entire design and development process as engineering, manufacturing, quality, assembly, testing and more is all performed onsite at our facilities.
An ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter willing to work on a vast diversity of projects. When the need arises on the shop floor, the ideal candidate is open and willing to turn wrenches as needed for third party testing, quick proof of concept validation, prototype assembly validation, customer in-field troubleshooting, and more.
Specific Responsibilities :
- Design of hydraulics division components and systems
- Piston accumulators, hydraulic starters, hydraulic start system components, hydraulic starting systems
- Support contract machining and rolls divisions to develop / improve systems and processes on existing and new projects
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and generate engineering documentation including 3D models, drawings, engineering reports, and detailed procedures
- Provide internal day to day technical support to other Kocsis departments (supply chain, production, quality, etc )
- Work and communicate directly with Kocsis manufacturing engineering for new / existing designs being manufactured onsite
- Provide external technical support to customers / sales
- Generate validation procedures / tests for new engineering products / engineering changes as needed
- Review work of lower-level engineering staff
- Provide guidance and feedback to design engineers and engineering technician as required
- Convey / document design intent within engineering change orders
Required Qualifications / Skills :
- Education : Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent major
- Software : Proficiency w / Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software (drawing and modeling environments)
- 5+ years of design engineering experience
- GD&T
- Design for manufacture
Preferred Qualifications / Skills :
- Software : Labview, PLC, FEA
- Background in hydraulic component and / or system design
- Ensuring compliance with industry and / or customer specifications
- Background in submerge arc welding / submerge arc welding systems / auto cladding system
- Strong background in materials selection (primarily metals and elastomers)

- This position will only require nominal business travel as conditions permit and warrant
