Summary :

The Application System Analyst II serves as a liaisonbetween system end-users (customers), operational leaders,additional support resources and vendors to design, build andoptimize their assigned applications in a timely and high-qualitymanner.

The Systems Analyst II will provide application support andoptimization. They work closely with the Service Desk to assist inresponding to service requests.

The Application System Analyst IImust be able to analyze business issues / requirements and workflowsand apply their application knowledge to meet operational andorganizational needs.

Project implementation responsibilitiesinclude collaborating with customers contributing to the analysis,testing, and documentation and implementation of medium to highcomplexity activities of assigned software.

This position mustpossess sufficient detailed healthcare knowledge and systemsexpertise to implement medium to high complexity assignedapplication with minimal guidance.

The Associate must be aself-motivated individual with exceptional communication andinterpersonal skills and the ability to work well in teamenvironments.

  • Analyze, develop, test,document, educate, implement, support, and maintain or optimizeassigned applications, solutions and business processes to meetoperational and technical requirements.
  • Collaborates across project borders with other teams. Thinksoutside the box and proposes practical solutions to issues.

Provides oversight and project management to assigned tasks.

Demonstrates a solid / working level ofsubject matter expertise in providing support to projects,customers, and other teams, while proactively working to improveand obtain new expertise in application / system in assigned areas.

Utilizes application training, application web site and applicationresource materials regularly and effectively and is able guidenewer team members in utilizing these resources.

Thorough knowledge and understanding ofoperations, can proactively identify opportunities to enhancecustomer usability, efficiency and / or experience.

Represents userneeds and expectations in larger, more complex system updates andenhancements. Provides clear and organized status reporting on keyproject areas to be used as external communications tostakeholders.

Performs workinglevel process and requirement analysis, including process mappingthough current flow charts, documents, future needs / plans,requirement elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specificationgathering to deliver cross team solutions.

Responsible forcompleting working level gap analysis, and providingrecommendations.

Able to clearlyarticulate complex design, configuration issues to end users andproject stakeholders. Maintains relationship with end userleadership post-engagement.

Proactively addresses end userconflicts.

Contributes to strategydiscussions by identifying options with associated pros and conswith team members. Facilitates making timely decisions;

makes sounddecisions even in the absence of complete information. Recognizeswhen a quick 80% resolution will suffice.

  • Adhere to organization standards forsystem configuration and change control.
  • Strong technical proficiency inapplication-specific design and configuration. Ability to clearlyarticulate and communicate core design, configuration concepts toend users.

Able to independently analyze, design, and configure theapplication. Able to teach design, configuration concepts to newteam members.

  • Collaborate anddevelop strong relationships with end user communities, customersand business partners.
  • Collaboratewith Operational Leaders to focus on standardized best practiceworkflow processes and content to ensure alignment across allministries, to create efficiencies, and to ensure optimaloperational processes.
  • Coordinatescode changes with appropriate vendor related to financial andbusiness application issues.
  • Collaborates with Technical Team to identify and infrastructurerelated issues that have resulted in application issues.
  • Share industry best practices fromvendors with Operational Leaders.
  • Demonstrates increasing technical knowledge of the assignedapplication including relationships of infrastructure and impact touser if unavailable.
  • Servesas a liaison between business operations and providers, internalinformation technology, system users and vendors working within thedefined project objectives for issue and problem resolution.
  • Follows strict change managementprocesses ensuring proper approval, testing, and validation ofsystem changes.
  • Writtendocumentation delivered to end users and leadership showsconsistency and attentive review. Is a team player and able toproactively communicate issues and concepts to projectleadership.
  • Associate periodicallyreviews and auto-corrects his / her skills, habits, work ethic, andbehaviors and manages his / her work in an effective and agreeableway among peers.

Associate is sensitive and aware of how othersperceive them and take care to ensure smooth and effective workingrelationships and environments.

  • Proactively and independently troubleshoot and resolve moderateincidents and requests without direction.
  • Maintains high standards for quality ofwork for self and others. Provides oversight and feedback on teammember design, configuration and deliverables.
  • Manages medium complexityprojects / requests. Collaborates with team members as needed.Proactively evaluates all new release and functionality ofapplications.
  • Complete in a timelymanner assigned courses within Healthstream, other electronictracking tools for educational related material or attendpresentations in person as assigned.
  • Ensure the services that he / she providescontribute to the successful accomplishment of the primary missionof the department.
  • Escalates whenSLAs are breached or appropriate vendor action is notoccurring.
  • May be required totravel to perform duties.
  • May berequired to work long hours during critical problems and on-callrotation.
  • Assist in preparationand conducting of continuing formal or informal training sessionfor users and co-workers.
  • Identifies and seizes new opportunities, displays can-do attitudein good and bad times and steps up to handle tough issues.
  • Performs other duties asassigned.

Requirements :

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred witha focus in healthcare, business, or informationsystems.
  • Ability to present complex data inmeaningful method, i. e., charts, graphs
  • Ability to adjust to and implementchange

  • Proficient in Microsoft applicationsincluding Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong organizationalskills in managing multiple priorities
  • 3+ Yearsof experience
  • 2+ years withinhealthcare, business, or information systems
  • Solves moderate incidents withoutdirection
  • Develops newfunctionality for requests with little direction
  • Works in a team setting, sharinginformation and assisting other junior level team members
  • Possesses detailed healthcare knowledgeand systems expertise
  • Makesdecisions regarding own work on primarily routine cases
  • Works under minimal supervision, usesindependent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors
  • Collaborates with senior team members todevelop approaches and solutions
  • Mentors and may train team members withinown functional or application
  • Associated certifications on area offocus, preferred

  • Certified or proficientin assigned Epic module (must be obtained within 6 months ofemployment date)
  • Certifications orProficiencies must stay current by maintaining new versiontraining
