Sr. Compliance Tech. Business Analyst, Vice President, Onsite

Who We Are Looking For

The Sr. Compliance Tech. Business Analyst will provide business analysis and related duties for various Anti-money laundering (AML) and Compliance Technology projects in the Boston, Massachusetts area.

Individual will liaise with the project sponsors, stakeholders, external vendors and other divisions within State Street to document current state, elicit & document requirements to ensure the delivery of quality products.

Individual must demonstrate leadership abilities in analysis, data analysis, technical analysis, problem solving, documentation, and communication.

Individual must be able to work under minimal direction while keeping senior management apprised of issues relating to analysis work related deliverables.

Individual must be able to manage other Business Analyst resources.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As Sr. Compliance Tech. Business Analyst you will :

• Manage, coordinate, lead, and set direction of other business analyst resources.
• Independently research and conduct analysis on functional requirements for projects where sanctions screening will migrate to Firco Continuity.
• Translate complex ideas into cogent business requirements documents.
• Create BRDs and data mapping documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, provide guidance, ask and respond to questions and assist with resolving complex issues.
• Ensure that any gaps identified in the BRD are addressed and rectified by the relevant team.
• Support development and testing teams by answering questions and updating documentation as needed based on feedback.
• Build and use visual dashboards using Tableau, Qlik, or other similar BI tools.
• Work with ETL-like tools such as Tableau Prep Builder to clean and transform data.
• Communicate, resolve, and potentially escalate critical issues.
• Work with the Project Manager and Product Owner to create and manage user stories using Jira.
• Support the team in triaging issues found during testing.
• Support the needs of Business users for User Acceptance Testing (BUAT).
• Work in a complex, deadline-driven organization on projects with minimal supervision.
• Analyze complex problems, derive options and solutions and present in an understandable manner to stakeholders, developers, testers and users at multiple levels.
• Act as a liaison with technology and business unit subject matter experts in support of technology projects.
• Solicit information from business and IT SMEs about application functions, data and process flows.
• Document application functions, data and process flows using prescribed template, or appropriate fit-for-purpose format.
• Participate in integration design process and provide detailed documentation and requirements as appropriate.
• Document reports required by system stakeholders.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Engineering, Business or Technology preferred.
• 5-6+ years of experience in financial services, including relevant responsibilities.
• Experience in Financial domain is highly desirable (Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC), financial securities, and trading principles).
• Good understanding of Agile methodology and Agile Ceremonies.
• Work with geographically distributed teams while maintaining the highest standard in collaboration and communication across the QA / DEV and Business teams.
• Team oriented attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and accountable for timely completion of deliverables.
• Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
• Preferred management experience.
