Job Description :
Student Financial Assistance is seeking applications for a Coordinator of Athletic Scholarships. This person will be responsible for various administrative duties within the department in regard to all athletic scholarships, as well as ensuring compliance with NCAA financial aid and scholarship regulations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
- Processing of all WKU Athletic Scholarships for 350+ student athletes
- Ensuring compliance in coordination with WKU Athletics staff with NCAA regulations in regard to scholarship awards for the 16 sports offered at WKU
- Maintain annually reviewed policy and procedures in accordance with NCAA handbook and associated regulatory guidance
- Auditing for changes in enrollment and eligibility factors for 350+ student athletes
- Associated audits with regard to reconciliation and compliance for all areas coordinated by this position
- Serve as liaison with WKU Athletics staff and all 28+ coaches
- Serve as liaison with Hilltopper Athletic Foundation
- Provide one-on-one financial counseling for all student athletes
- Coordinating outreach associated with communicating changes to programs, availability of funds, student, parent and departmental inquiries
Secondary Duties
- Cross-train and serve as backup for scholarship questions and inquiries regarding institutional, state, and third-party scholarships by telephone, email, and in-person
- Cross-train and serve as backup for institutional, state and third-party scholarship processing on an as needed basis
- Cross-train other scholarship staff on WKU Athletic Scholarship procedures
- Seeking improvements in services and process flow for students and families
- Assisting management with various audits and / or activities as needed

Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of regulations pertaining to federal, state and / or institutional aid programs
