About The Position
Job Title : Dialysis Technician Job Specialty : Chronic Dialysis Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 12x3 - 7 : 00 AM Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years of recent Chronic Dialysis experience License : Not specified Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
must be American Heart Association certified - Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification Must-Have : - CCHT certification with a minimum of 2 years of hemodialysis experience - Active BLS certification from American Heart Association - Social security number and date of birth for onboarding purposes Job Description : - Perform all technical services related to dialysis, including managing dialysis equipment and water systems.
- Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) within the scope of practice for dialysis technicians.
- Operate B Braun hemodialysis machines and Epic computer systems. - Responsible for patient care equipment related to dialysis.
- Work 12-hour shifts with various start times; Monday through Saturday availability required, with every other Saturday preferred.
- No on-call duties; not required to float to other units or departments. - Maintain a nurse / tech-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4, or 2 : 6 if paired with an RN.
- Adhere to dress code : gray scrubs and appropriate footwear. Training and Orientation : - Complete two 8-hour day shifts with learning modules.
- Undergo 2 to 4 twelve-hour shifts alongside another technician. - Assigned a CCHT or RN preceptor to evaluate skills and complete a dialysis-specific checklist before performing tasks independently.
