Summary
The Warehouse Worker II has an excellent work ethic and can assist in our daily functions such as calling auctions, cash handling, operating a register, understanding product flow, and providing exceptional customer service.
This position also requires assisting in loading and unloading trucks, accepting and processing donations, clearing the sales floor of pallets using a pallet jack, and driving a 26 box truck.
Candidates will work closely with management by actively securing and monitoring inventory and ensuring all merchandise is appropriately placed.
Essential Functions
- Follows best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck.
- Follows DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Operates and conducts daily inspections on the compactor baler, Dump truck, and forklifts.
- Meets productivity standards when bailing.
- Responsible for keeping documents like Donation count, Waste delivered to the recycling company, forklift inspections, and receipts from any wholesale sales conducted in the warehouse.
- Provides excellent customer service and resolves issues if able, communicates with management when needed.
- Ensure all donated items meet acceptability requirements.
- Operating register.
- Evaluate the quality of the product prior to the auctions in other to ensure profitability. Prioritizes the flow of products for the auctions and staging areas.
- Supports Management by recording and maintaining accurate productivity documentation.
- Communicate timely and clearly with team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Accurately operates a cash register or POS system.
- Can provide excellent service to customers and donors and collaborate with co-workers.
- Assists with Loading and unloading trucks and operates a baler and forklift. We will provide training for the right candidate.
- Ensures a constant and efficient flow of products, bins, and Gaylord with safety in mind.
- Ensures auction products meet quality standards and understand the product's value.
- Drives a 26 box truck for dump runs.
- Setting up and staging for our daily auctions.
- Running the auction by calling and accepting bids. Willing to train.
- Must have open availability, be able to work any day, and may be required to work flex hours to support all business areas.
- Performs other duties within the job scope as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possess a valid California driver’s license;
and have no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months.
- Able to operate a hand truck, lift gate, and pallet jack.
- Forklift Certification preferred but not required Will train the right candidate.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification is preferred but not required.
- At least three years of warehouse experience in a retail or stock room environment or equivalent.
- At least one year of cash register / point of sale experience in Thrift, Retail, or Auctions.
- Basic use of MS Office.
- Participate in an annual Tuberculosis or other screenings when necessary. Reasonable accommodation may be granted where appropriate.
